Carousel Returns to Boston Common – Tree News

Following a successful test run last spring, the Boston Common Frog Pond Foundation and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department announced this week that a carousel has returned to the Frog Pond and will stay for an extended run through the end of October.

“For many years the Boston Common Frog Pond Foundation wanted to explore the possibility of having a carousel adjacent to the Frog Pond,” noted Foundation president Tom Kershaw.  “Working closely with Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, we held a trial last spring to see if this type of activity would be received positively by the community.  The answer we got was a resounding ‘yes’ so we are pleased to bring this unique ride back to the Common for the spring, summer and fall.”
